Course Summary
This course focuses on the science behind sport and how this us used to develop performance.
This subject is the equivalent of 3 A-levels in Sport and Exercise Science, meaning this will be the only subject in your study programme.
With the demands for faster, stronger, more successful athletes nowadays this course gives learners an insight into how this is achieved by covering the key components of Sport and Exercise Science.
You will gain valuable skills as well as an understanding of the different roles within sport and exercise science.
This course is well suited to those with a passion for sport and an interest in how sporting performances can continue to develop in the future.
Please note, this is a two year programme therefore students will have to complete the full two years in order to achieve this qualification.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
Learners will be assessed through a mixture of internal and external assessment. Some units are assessed by an external exam, some by coursework and some by coursework tasks marked externally. 4 of the 13 units will be externally marked with the remaining 9 assessed by coursework.
Entry requirements
Grade 4 or above in GCSE English Language and Maths. Grade C or above in GCSE Science. Grade C in GCSE Physical Education is desirable.
