Have you ever wondered how the business world operates?

This course will help you to build the skills and confidence to explore Business. It will encourage you to make informed choices about finance, understand how businesses are run and managed, and will help you to develop your learning further or identify the different careers opportunities open to you. The course will help you develop valuable life skills by applying for jobs and having interviews, as well as making you more financially aware.

Students experience visits from a business advisors and a recruitment specialist (subject to Covid 19 rules and social distancing). An educational visit to Redwings Horse Sanctuary is planned, as is a visit to a local supermarket (subject to Covid 19 rules and social distancing).

Units studied

Unit 1 – Business purpose

Unit 2 – Business organisations

Unit 3 – Financial forecasting for business

Unit 4 – People in organisations

Unit 5 – The marketing plan

Unit 8 – Training and employment in business.

Coursework - 100%

Grades 3 GCSE profile with grades 3 in GCSE English Language & Maths.

This qualification is internally assessed and consists of 6 assignments which are graded pass, merit or distinction. There are no examinations within this qualification.

After successful completion of this qualification at merit or above, you could progress on to Level 3 Business Studies, other Level 3 subjects, or an apprenticeship.
