The V Level in Digital Systems and Data has been designed to provide students with a strong foundation in modern digital technologies while developing the practical skills needed to apply knowledge in realistic workplace contexts. The qualification focuses on understanding digital systems, working with data, cyber security, and digital solution design, preparing students for higher education, apprenticeships, and careers across a wide range of digital industries.

The V Level in Digital Systems and Data is designed for students who want to develop both technical understanding and practical digital skills. Students will learn how digital systems operate, how data can be used to support decision making, how organisations protect themselves from cyber threats, and how digital solutions are designed to meet user needs.

All students will study core knowledge and understanding covering:

• Digital systems and their components

• Data analysis and interpretation

• Cyber security principles and secure system use

• System configuration and testing

• Problem solving and digital solution design

• Usability, accessibility and responsible technology use

• The impact and applications of AI-enabled systems

Assessment:

The course is roughly 50% non-examined assessment and 50% externally assessed although this weighting is different for each qualification;

50% external assessment on Certificate

58% external assessment on Extended certificate

A grade 4 in GCSE English Language and Maths is essential. Any IT qualification at L2 should be a 4 / Pass grade or above.
