If you are a UK or home fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course, tuition fees are free. You can apply for up to two courses (except A Level subjects where you must select a minimum of three).

You will only be invited to book an interview for your 1st choice course initially.

Course Details

This ESOL course will develop your speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar skills. You will take part in a range of activities covering different subjects such as health, sport, hobbies, transport and jobs as well as trips to develop your language skills.

We have a range of levels available. The right level for you will be assessed as part of the interview process:

  • Entry Level 1 ESOL plus Maths
  • Entry Level 2 ESOL plus Maths
  • Entry Level 3 ESOL plus Maths

Students attend "Vocational Experience" classes to focus on work skills and tasters of other college courses.You will develop computer skills and study Functional Skills Maths at a level which is suitable for you. The course helps you to get used to college life and living in the UK. We will support you in your future and staff will help you apply for College courses for the following year.

Assessment:

You will gain a qualification in ESOL, assessed by exam. You may be able to take your exam early and progress to a second level within one year.

Entry requirements

You will need to sit a controlled assessment to identify your ESOL level. This is a course which is designed for students aged between 16 and 18 years old.

Academic progression:

Following the successful completion of the course with a good attendance and behaviour record, you may be able to progress on to further courses at the College.

Career progression:

The ESOL qualification is widely recognised by employers and will assist with your progression into further education, employment as well as everyday life in the UK.
