Our Music Technology courses are renowned for their exciting content and opportunities. They are perfect for any producer or sound engineer looking to develop their skills. The Level 2 course is:
This is a one-year GCSE-equivalent full-time course for producers and sound engineers with limited prior experience.The course covers musicianship, music software and hardware, repertoire development, recording, mastering and realisation, live and studio sound and business awareness and promotion.
Delivery is focused around practical music production sessions using Apple Macs and software such as Reason, Logic and Ableton Live and sound engineering work in studios and live situations.
Entry requirements
Our main criteria is an ability and passion for music and a dedication to gain skills. You will be invited to an audition/interview where we will assess which course is best for you.
As a guide, this course is for producers, composers and sound engineers with some skills and experience. You are likely to have experience of creating tracks using one or two types of software such as Reason, Cubase or FL Studio. You may have had experience of live sound at small gigs or festivals.

Progression from the Level 2 course is to further study at Level 3. This may be to the Music Technology Level 3 course, or other courses such as Music Performance or Event Production.
