Our Music Technology courses are renowned for their exciting content and opportunities. They are perfect for any producer or sound engineer looking to develop their skills. The Level 2 course is:

• Centred around music production sessions in Apple Mac technology suites and in studio and live sound, both in and outside the centre.
• Ideal for young musicians aged 16+. We work with producers, musicians, composers, DJs, audio technicians etc.
• For producers into creating and performing any style of popular music, from house and trance to dubstep and drum 'n' bass.
• Based around real-world projects with opportunities to record and showcase your work. There are opportunities to play out at events and club nights. Our students can also get involved in industry showcases, such as the Island Records talent showcase.
• Designed to give you more than music in that you will also gain valuable job skills and life skills.
• Linked to nationally-recognised music qualifications.
• Taught by musicians at 8 UK locations and graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

This is a one-year GCSE-equivalent full-time course for producers and sound engineers with limited prior experience.The course covers musicianship, music software and hardware, repertoire development, recording, mastering and realisation, live and studio sound and business awareness and promotion.

Delivery is focused around practical music production sessions using Apple Macs and software such as Reason, Logic and Ableton Live and sound engineering work in studios and live situations.

Our main criteria is an ability and passion for music and a dedication to gain skills. You will be invited to an audition/interview where we will assess which course is best for you.

As a guide, this course is for producers, composers and sound engineers with some skills and experience. You are likely to have experience of creating tracks using one or two types of software such as Reason, Cubase or FL Studio. You may have had experience of live sound at small gigs or festivals.

Progression from the Level 2 course is to further study at Level 3. This may be to the Music Technology Level 3 course, or other courses such as Music Performance or Event Production.
