Course Summary
This course is designed to help you manage and understand finances. You will learn about the various sources of money including earned income with tax and National Insurance calculations, inheritance benefits and borrowing.
You will also learn how to organise your money through personal budgeting, the use of bank and building society accounts and the concept and consequences of overspending.
You will look at the qualifications and opportunities in the banking/financial sectors in terms of employment.
Course Details
There are three units in total for the full qualification:
- Your personal finances
- Money management for your generation
- Your future, your career

Exam - 100%
Entry requirements
Level 1 - Usually an E/F/G GCSE profile.
Level 2 - Low grade GCSE performance or evidence of academic potential. Completion of the Level 1 LiFE Certificate.
Assessment
Three online exams, multiple choice answers, all building to a final grade, either a level 1 certificate or a level 2 certificate.
Your next steps...
Upon successful completion of the course there is the opportunity to progress to the Level 3 Certificate in Financial Studies. This is an AS equivalent course with UCAS points and can be extended to the A2 equivalent Diploma in Financial Studies.
If further study is not your plan then the course will also stand you in good stead for work as you will be equipped with the tools to manage your money and check your pay.
