You will only be invited to book an interview for your 1st choice course initially.

Course Details

This course provides the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills to pursue a career in the Health and Social Care Sector and is made up of units which may include:

  • Human Lifespan Development
  • Health and Social care values
  • Effective Communication
  • Healthy Living
  • Equality and Diversity
  • Human Body Systems
  • Vocational Experience in Health and Social Care

Assessment:

Throughout the course, you will learn by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. There are 2 mandatory exams that must be passed to complete the Level 2 course. Students will also be required to complete a period of work experience.

Entry requirements

4 GCSE's at grade 3 or above, including English and Maths or a BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Health and Social Care or other suitable foundation course passed at Merit level. A successful completion of Disclosure Baring Service (DBS) check.

Good English and Maths skills are essential for many jobs and courses you will progress on to. The Government has made it priority for students to develop these skills and your course programme will reflect this key aim. Depending on your grades when you start this course you could either study Functional Skills or GCSEs alongside the other parts of your programme of study.
