Course Details

Students work towards the University of the Arts London (UAL) Level 2 Creative Media Production and Technology Diploma during one year of study. This course offers an exciting and ideal starting point if you want to pursue a career in the media. It will give you all the skills you need to progress onto the Level 3 course in Media Production and beyond. The course will focus on both practical and theory aspects of media. The course offers the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential to be successful in the creative media industry. The course is made up of 8 units, all of which must be studied and passed. They are: Research for creative media production The creative media sector Media audiences & products Video production Audio production Advertising Production Factual TV production In addition to your main programme you will also study Maths and English. Depending on your grades on entry you will either study Functional Skills or GCSE. Please check our English and Maths page for further information.

Entry requirements

Minimum four GCSEs at grade 9-3, including English and Maths. Relevant Level 1 Diploma including GCSE English and GCSE Maths 9-3. Candidates will be invited for an interview prior to selection.

Your next steps...

Successful completion the Level 2 Diploma will provide direct entry onto the Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media. Students can also apply for alternative Level 3 courses within the department that may better suit their career aims such as: Art & Design, Music, Graphics and Illustration, Digital Art, Animation and Games Design and Production Arts.
