Students work towards the University of the Arts London (UAL) Level 2 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts. The Dance pathway has a focus on contemporary dance with students exploring the ways in which performances can explore and examine local, national and global issues. You will participate in public performances and become part of our theatre company, Platform Productions. The company's artistic policy is to provide theatre of the highest quality within the local community and beyond. Platform Productions embraces the talents of young people and provides a hub for learning, training and development. Staging a Performance Production Skills and Practice Personal Project and Presentation Communicating with an Audience Extended Project Key tasks are likely to include: Contextual, historical & socio-political research and evaluation that informs production Preparing for performances by developing and rehearsing dance pieces Performing to live audiences Critically evaluating performance of self and others Studying and creating choreography -Discussing and Interpreting choreography Taking care of the health and safety of yourself and others, which requires knowledge and observation of physiology and anatomy, as well as safe use of premises and equipment to avoid injury This exciting course is taught by professional tutors who have a wide range of experience in the dance industry to support students within their chosen career path.

Minimum of four GCSEs at grades 9-3, including GCSE English and GCSE Maths 9-3. Relevant Level 1 Diploma at minimum Merit including GCSE English and GCSE Maths 9-3. Successful completion of audition and interview prior to selection.

Most students who successfully complete the Level 2 will progress onto Level 3 within the Creative Arts department; with students having the option of the following Performing and Production Arts pathways at level 3: Dance, Musical Theatre, Acting, Performance, Music and Production Arts.
