You can apply for up to two courses (except A Level subjects where you must select a minimum of three).
You will only be invited to book an interview for your 1st choice course initially.
Course Details
Students work towards the University of the Arts London (UAL) Level 2 Games Design Diploma during one year of study.
This course offers an exciting and ideal starting point if you want to pursue a career in Digital Arts, Animation, VFX, Art & Design, 3D Modelling or Games Design. It will give you all the skills you need to progress onto the Level 3 course in Digital Art, Animation and Games Design and beyond. The course will focus on both practical and theory aspects of Digital Art, Animation and Games Design. The course offers the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential to be successful in the creative digital industries. The course is made up of 8 units, all of which must be studied and passed. They are:
The creative sector
Character design
Concept art
Storyboarding
Research for digital art, animation and games
3D Modelling for Games
VFX production
Animation production
Games Design
Digital Comic Creation
In addition to your main programme, you will also study Maths and English. Depending on your grades at entry you will either study Functional Skills or GCSE. Please check our English and Maths page for further information.

Entry requirements
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 9-3, including English and Maths. Or a relevant Level 1 Diploma including English and Maths at grade 9-3. Candidates will be invited for an interview and given a creative task to complete prior to selection.
Your next steps...
Successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma will provide direct entry onto the Level 3 Diploma in Digital Art, Animation and Game Design. Students can also apply for alternative Level 3 courses within the department that may better suit their career aims such as Art & Design, Creative Media, Photography, Music, Graphics and Illustration, Spatial Design and Production Arts.
