Course Details
This course covers a wide range of practical skills and theory knowledge for the trade, helping you to gain employment as a bricklayer within the construction industry.
Through practical lessons, you will work through a series of tasks to develop your hands-on skills, all set by the awarding body to demonstrate and verify your techniques. Your theory lessons will provide you with the underpinning knowledge of the construction industry needed to apply your skills on site.
In your second year, you will need to complete a minimum of 40 hours of work experience, to give you the experience of working on a real building site.

Entry requirements
Entry to Bricklaying Requirements: GCSE Grade 2 in English and Maths.
Year 1 Requirements: GCSE Grades 3 or above, including English and Maths.
Year 2 Requirements: Completion of Year 1.

The college works in partnership with construction companies such as Lovell, Persimmon Homes, S J Specialist Brickwork, Premier Brickwork and DS Watson Civil Engineering (Anglia) who can offer work experience and apprenticeships.
Many of our former students have secured employment as a bricklayer, site supervisor, ground worker, general site operative, scaffolder, estimator or stonemason.
