Physics helps you understand how things work. It will help you learn how to understand the fundamental principles that govern and the universe and everything in it. The AS course consists of two units. Unit one is called Foundation Physics and investigates the way things move and electrical circuits. Unit two is called Waves and Nuclear Physics. It covers the strange and beautiful properties of waves and considers what we know about the fundamental building blocks of matter. What are they? How do they interact? In addition, you will develop your practical physics skills. The A2 year continues the practical theme and contains two more theory units. Further Physics describes oscillations and quantum phenomena. The final module, Fields and their Applications, introduces ways to describe action-at-a-distance effects such as gravity and electrostatic charges.
