Course Details

Building on the skills acquired at GCSE level, you will study novels, plays and poems by significant writers of the past and present centuries. You will be expected to show your knowledge and understanding of those texts and your ability to express your responses clearly, logically and accurately. Being able to communicate effectively and sensitively is of paramount importance in every aspect of our lives. English Literature is concerned with developing those skills through analysing and appreciating how writers use language. Assessment of your work will be through a combination of coursework assignments and writing under examination conditions.
