Course Details

Media Studies offers you the chance to get beneath the surface of the mass media that surrounds you. The course trains you in media literacy (being able to read both audio visual as well as written media forms) through a blend of theory and practical exercises where you create examples of mass media products. The course includes:New media technologies such as iPods and blogs The construction of news and advertising campaigns Film industries, analysis and censorship. Media at A level offers you a combination of lessons and written work with individual research and a chance to becreative with still images, video footage, radio work, even website design. It blends well with English, Sociology, Art, Graphics, Film Studies and Communication Studies.
