AQA Further Mathematics

A Level Further Mathematics is designed to broaden and deepen the mathematical knowledge and skills when studying A level Mathematics.

Further Mathematics is an extension to the A level Mathematics, including a more detailed approach, with more proofs and covering a wider range of applications. Further Mathematics is taught alongside the main A level. The students will be mixed in for the main Mathematics and then taught Further Mathematics as a group.

All students will complete the AS-Level exams at the end of Year 12, with the option to then continue the subject into Year 13 to achieve the full A-Level. This is particularly important for those students who intent to pursue degree level Mathematics at competitive universities.

Entry requirements

GCSE Mathematics 8

Progression into the second year of the course is reliant on students achieving a minimum B grade in AS-Level qualification at the end of Year 12.

Your next steps...
