Applications made before 01 January will be considered while blocking subjects for our timetable. If you apply after this date, the blocking for subjects will have already been determined. If the subjects you have chosen do not fit into the blocking, you will be notified as soon as possible, to arrange a conversation with our Sixth Form team in order to discuss alternatives.
Course Details
The specification is designed with a focus on the integration of language and literature enabling students to see how linguistic and literary methods are related and to explore these links in their work. Students engage creatively and independently with a variety of spoken, written and multi-modal texts. A variety of assessment styles are used, such as re-creative writing, commentary writing, discursive essays and research-based investigative writing which allows students to develop a wide range of skills The course has clear skills progression from GCSE.

Progression into the second year of the course is reliant on students achieving a minimum D grade in the End of Year 1 Exam.
