Norfolk County Council's Post16 Travel Scheme

Before applying to Norfolk County Council's Post 16 travel scheme, it is worth checking with your local bus and train operator about buying a travel pass direct from them as this could be cheaper and more flexible. Check discounts offered by bus and train operators for a summary of discounts available.

Cycle allowances

A cycling grant of £200 per year is available from Norfolk County Council to support young people to cycle to college or sixth form as a healthy and green alternative. 

Your son or daughter can claim this grant if they are entitled to post-16 travel assistance but check the terms and conditions.

Moped loans

If your son or daughter will have difficulty getting to work, training or education, Kickstart can provide them with a moped loan.

TITAN (Travel Independence Training across Norfolk)

TITAN offer travel training to young people with SEND or to those who have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP).  The service is offered to young people moving on to further education at a Norfolk college or sixth form.  The TITAN+ programme offers support to gain the skills and confidence needed to travel independently.

The school your son or daughter attends may have already spoken to you about this programme but, if not, you can read more about it and make an application here.

Transport provision provided by Norfolk County Council changes when young people move on to Post 16 education.  All applications to TITAN+ programme will be considered in line with the county council's Post16 transport policy where relevant.

If we are able to support young people with TITAN+ Travel Training the service is provided for free by the county council.  You can find out more about TITAN Travel Training and some useful parent/carer factsheets by visiting the TITAN website.
