Course Details
This is an ideal course for people who wish to access courses associated with Project Search and MINT but do not feel entirely ready or confident. This course will use enterprise challenges, team work enhancing activities and employment training to ensure participants are ready to get the most from post-college life. The name 'Ticket' was created by the first cohort of students as they saw the course as their 'ticket to a better future'.
Alongside the development of employability skills and expertise, students will continue to develop their Maths and English through Functional Skills qualifications.
Assessment:
Assessment is informal. The course is assessed by frequent and thorough CV workshops and job interview training. Each learner will leave the course with a CV. The interviews can reflect the knowledge and skills gained and also ensures the learners can adapt their CV for any job description. Each mock job interview is filmed and local employers, who will conduct the interviews, can reflect and assess the good points and ways to improve with the learner and the main tutor. Students complete the Gateway Preparation for Employment qualification alongside Functional Skills maths and English.
