Course Details

Our T Level course in Maintenance, Installation and Repair (Mechatronic) is designed for students who wish to specialise in the maintenance and repair of electrical or mechanical systems and components, focusing on becoming a multi-skilled engineer.

You will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the engineering and manufacturing sector, including how materials, conditions and context influence design processes and products. You will learn essential mathematics for engineering and manufacturing, understand material processing techniques and their effects on materials and material quality, material testing methods and commercial and financial awareness.

The mechatronics specialism will introduce you to maintenance, installation and repair skills in practical contexts including mechanical and electrical machinery, electronics, control systems, computing, telecommunications, and systems engineering.

Then you will be able to put everything you learn into practice, with a substantial industry placement of a minimum of 315 hours. This will give you an amazing opportunity to work within the engineering and manufacturing sectors and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for.

Entry requirements

You need to have achieved a grade 5 in both English and maths to be able to study this course.
