You will cover:

In-Depth IT Systems Knowledge: Understanding the role of IT systems in today’s digital landscape, including how to identify and tackle cybersecurity threats.

Cybersecurity and Risk Management: Learn how to prevent, detect, and manage attacks in a world where cyber threats are constantly evolving.

Website Creation: Build dynamic websites tailored to specific needs, boosting your creative and technical web development skills.

Data Mastery through Databases: Develop relational database solutions, equipping you with the skills to manage and analyse data effectively.

This course needs to be taken alongside two A Levels.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

There are two examined units and two internally assessed units where you will engage in practical tasks to develop your information technology skills and knowledge.

Exams: Information Technology Systems and Cyber Security and Incident Management.

Coursework: Website Development and Relation Database Development.

Entry requirements

You will need to achieve a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including a grade 4 in English language and a grade 4 in maths. You do not need to have studied computer science at GCSE or BTEC information and communication technology. However, if you have studied these courses, we would expect you to have achieved at least a grade 4 or Merit.
