6 GCSEs Grades 9-4 (or equivalent), including Grade 4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)

Course Summary
Equivalent to one A-level, this course covers the areas which are essential to health and social care and would be suitable for students considering a career in many avenues including, but not exclusive to, paediatrics and midwifery.
Course Details
The course introduces students to key concepts and a body of knowledge that will provide them with an invaluable and thoughtful perspective on contemporary issues in Health and Social Care. Students will study topics such as anatomy and physiology, reproduction and gestation and nutrition which provides a strong foundation for careers in paediatrics, midwifery and sports and exercise science amongst many more.
The courses assessment structure is split with 50% being exam based and 50% coursework. This provides students with a unique opportunity to develop key skill such as time management, communication and independence which will inevitably support them in their lives.

Minimum requirement: 6 GCSEs Grades 9-4 (or equivalent), including English language and mathematics; Grade 5 English language or Grade 5 biology or Grade 5/5 combined science
