You will be required to complete the supporting healthcare component and the occupational specialism in year two, which is called Supporting the Adult Nursing team.
The course provides a mixture of technical knowledge and clinical skills specific to nursing and a work placement of at least 45 days in your chosen occupation. On completion of the course you will be able to choose between moving into a skilled occupation or further study in nursing and health, for example, a higher or degree level apprenticeship, or higher-level technical study, including higher education.
A big part of your study will be to complete relevant industry-based work placement. Throughout the course, you'll be required to complete a minimum of 45 days (315 hours) work placement. You'll also get the opportunity to show us what you've learned and demonstrate your abilities during numerous observations through the course. Work placement is a great opportunity to get your feet wet in your chosen specialism and help confirm that this is the career you want to do!
How will it be delivered and assessed?

Year 1 core components will be assessed with written exams, 2 and a half hours for health and 2 and a half hours for science.
