*Please choose 3 subject courses from different blocks, you will automatically be added to Maths or English resit classes on enrolment if you do not achieve required 4 in Maths or English Lit/Lang but you must still meet requirements for entry per subject.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?
There is an initial induction period, during which students will be introduced to skills, techniques and sociological theories that are essential for the course.
The course itself consists of three units, all of which are studied over the two years of the course:
? Unit 1: Education with Theory and Methods, which covers Education, Research Methods in the context of Education and Sociological Theories
? Unit 2: Topics in Sociology, which covers ‘Culture and Identity' and ‘The Media'
? Unit 3: Crime and Deviance with Theory and Methods, which covers Crime and Deviance,
Research Methods and Sociological Theories
HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED?
There are three units which are assessed by three external examinations.

WHAT WILL I NEED TO STUDY THIS COURSE?
Good literacy and communication skills are essential on this course. Students should have a grade 5 or higher in GCSE English for A Level study but all applications are considered on an individual basis.
