Course Summary
Our A-Level in Sociology will provide you with a sound understanding of central aspects of sociological thought and methods and the opportunity to develop a range of skills.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
Students will follow a programme which combines class teaching with small group work, discussion, video material, IT and research projects. Students will complete three examinations over the duration of the course, each carrying a weight of 33% of their overall final result/grade. Paper 1: Education with Theory and Methods. This is a 2 hour written exam out of 80 marks. Paper 2: Topics in Sociology This is a 2 hour written exam out of 80 marks. Paper 3: Crime and Deviance with Theory and Methods. This is a 2 hour written exam out of 80 marks.
Entry requirements
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths and, for this specific subject;
GCSE grade 5 or above in English language
