Course Details
The course covers both craft and digital skills. Photography is housed in new studios using a modern darkroom and digital suite using Adobe Photoshop and other creative cloud software.
At AS-Level students spend the first term developing camera skills using DSLR’s and studio lighting equipment. A range of photographic genres are explored whilst experimenting with both digital and traditional equipment and processes. After building skills students have the freedom to explore a theme of their choosing, this project will form 100% of the mark for the year.
During the second-year students will refine the skills developed in the first year and make decisions about new processes and techniques they would like to explore. Students are encouraged to attend workshops held at college and on location. Students often enter competitions and seek opportunities to have their work published. The second-year finishes with an exhibition showcasing student work.
