Course Summary

The course is designed to provide the opportunity for students to study and develop their knowledge and skills in the following topics:

- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the factors that underpin performance and involvement in physical activity and sport

- Apply knowledge and understanding of the factors that underpin performance and involvement in physical activity and sport

- Analyse and evaluate the factors that underpin performance and involvement in physical activity and sport

- Demonstrate and apply relevant skills and techniques in physical activity and sport

- Analyse and evaluate performance

Sport and society and the role of technology in physical activity and sport

How will it be delivered and assessed?

External assessment only takes place at the end of year 2.

2 exams each accounting for 35% of the final grade and lasting 2 hours per exam

Coursework – Practical Performance 15% | Performance Analysis 15%

Entry requirements

Grade 4 or higher in English and Maths with a Grade C in Science in essential. An average GCSE score of at least 5.50. Grade C or above in GCSE PE is preferred but not essential. You must also be taking part, or be willing to take part in sport either as a coach or participant.
