Course Summary
You will have an opportunity to create, record and discover all about sound and the music which we enjoy every day.
Focused towards the practical and theoretical aspects of music technology, you will use industry standard software and equipment to create your own projects based on briefs which are set by the exam board.
You will also develop both your musical skills as well your understanding of music technology whilst being allowed the freedom to be creative.
The college’s facilities are excellent with software such as Cubase Pro 11 DAW running alongside Reason, Halion 6 and Native Instruments Komplete sound banks.
The software runs on quad core dual screen PC’s and there is a fully equipped recording studio with an Apple Mac Pro, Cubase Pro DAW and a 32 track MIDAS built digital mixing system. Our isolated recording space ensures top quality recordings and we also have a ‘mobile’ recording setup to encourage our students to experiment with ambient sound recording techniques.
