Course Summary
Sport is a subject for people who like to know how the body works, how sports performers recover from training and injuries and how to coach various groups of people. After studying Sport you will have a much better understanding of how the sports industry works and the requirements of staff in the industry.
Course Details
There are SIX parts to Level 3 Sport. You will study:
(1) Body Systems (Exam) M
(2) Sports Coaching (Coursework) M
(3) Sport Organisation and development (Exam) M
(4) Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation (Coursework) O
(5) Nutrition and Diet (Coursework) O
(6) Physical Activity for Specific Groups (Coursework) O
Learning will be through theoretical and practical based lessons, which will be supported by students completing individual research tasks. The broad and balanced curriculum will give you the knowledge, understanding and skills you need to follow a fulfilling career in the sporting industry.
Entry requirements
5 GCSEs Level 9-4, Level 5 in relevant subject area.
If you are doing a Level 2 Sport you need to get a Merit+.
If you are not doing a Level 2 Sport then you need to get a Grade 5+ in Biology or 5.5 in Combined Science.
