Application Instructions

We ask for a minimum GCSE score of 5 grades at grade 4 or above in five different subjects including English Language and Mathematics. We accept equivalent Level 2 qualifications such as BTEC and OCR Nationals but will only count them as 1 grade.

In addition most subjects require at least a grade 5 at GCSE in order to take them at Level 3. Maths and Science subjects require a grade 6.

This course encourages a holistic understanding of Sport and Physical Activity; you will receive a well-rounded introduction to the world of PE, sport and sport science through the combination of physical performance and academic challenges.

Course Details

This course encompasses sport and physical education themes. Students have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge about different types of sport and physical activity, skills development and sports leadership.

This course provides an engaging and broad introduction to the world of sport and PE. It incorporates important aspects of the industry, such as fitness testing and training for sport and exercise practical sports performance and sports leadership. It will enable you to develop and apply your knowledge in situations which show an understanding of how the body works during activity, while also developing a range of relevant practical, communication and technical skills.

This course is assessed both internally and also has external assessments.

Kings Lynn Town Football Programme

In addition to your academic qualification you can also combine King’s Lynn Town Football Academy coaching to the Level 3 in Sport. Your timetable will include football training sessions, match analysis sessions, study sessions in addition to the Level 3 Sport lessons.

This is a great course for anyone with a passion for Football who wants to challenge themselves in a new environment. Unique to this course, the fixtures will be played against clubs with similar programmes and fixtures will be held both home and away across the country.

Alongside your training, you will also study a Level in Sport and Physical Activity which you can use towards application for University or as a route into employment within the sporting field. The course also gives the opportunity to attain coaching qualifications providing you with a unique qualification to further enhance your knowledge and understanding of Football and sport. This can support your application for university and job applications.
