Medical Science

Are you interested in human biology, health or medical science?

Our Medical Science course will enable you to study the principles and applications of medical science through three units, and further explore other areas in more detail through an optional unit. You will also learn practical and investigation skills that build on this fundamental knowledge.

This qualification is designed to be taken alongside A Levels as part of a study programme and can link to A Level subjects such as Sport, Health and Exercise, Sociology, Chemistry and Psychology. It is intended for those that wish to progress onto higher education as a pathway to employment.

Must meet overall entry criteria for AAQ study

Four GCSEs at grades 9-4, or a Merit in a full Level 2 BTEC Diploma.

(If combining a BTEC with an A Level, the entry criteria for that A Level will need to be met too). Plus, a successful audition.

You could progress to university to study nursing (adult, children’s mental health and learning disability), physiotherapy, paramedic science, midwifery, occupational health, radiotherapy and pharmaceutical sciences.
