To study 3 A Levels

6 GCSEs - combination of:

• C or above for unreformed GCSEs
• 4 or above in Reformed GCSEs

To study Double Award Btec (OCR Nationals) and 1 A Level

5 GCSEs - combination of:

• C or above for unreformed GCSEs
• 4 or above in Reformed GCSEs

To study Triple Award Btec (OCR Nationals).

4 GCSEs - combination of:

• C or above for unreformed GCSEs
• 4 or above in Reformed GCSEs

The BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is a vocational qualification which is equal to two A Levels. The
course focuses on the health and social care sector, looking at all life stages, services, communication skills,
sociological and psychological perspectives and current legislation. This will also include some practical experience.
You will be able to study an additional A Level or BTEC subject alongside this qualification. This will depend on your
GCSE grades and will be discussed during your Sixth Form interview.

General Entry criteria

Students can enter into employment in a range of Health and Social Care professions. Some direct employment is combined with further professional qualificaations. Alternatively, students can enter into higher education, studying a range of Health and Social Care degree programmes including: Social Work, Health and Social Care, Childhood Studies, Nursing, Midwifery, Social Policy, Psychology, Sociology and Occupational Therapy.
