Course Details

A vibrant course allowing the perfect mix of academic theory and practical production work. Film Studies is the unique chance to demonstrate creativity in filmmaking, an understanding of one of the most popular art forms. Learners work on their own online blogs and utilise social and digital media throughout.

Film Studies at Wymondham High is designed to ignite a passion for film and develop broader cultural and historical perspectives on this academic area of study. The course allows learners to watch, engage with, and explore a wide range of film; from the silent era to the present day, and different forms of film, including blockbusters, documentary, short film and experimental.
Film Studies has a strong relationship between academic theory and practical work through a creative production and evaluation where learners create their own short film. This involves all elements from research, planning, casting, scripting, filming, editing (full training given) and showcasing to an audience.
