Course Summary

English Literature is the study of texts in English. It provides you with the opportunity to gain an insight into the traditions of English Literature, to develop as a confident and reflective reader and, most importantly, to develop your enjoyment of literary studies. One of the themes of the course is ‘Love through the Ages’ and this involves a historicist approach looking at texts across the broad spectrum of love, covering jealousy, conflict and revenge.
