Course Summary

Drama is a subject for people who have a passion and commitment to performance and explorative study through practice and analysis. The course gives an insight into the creative process through key practitioners of historical note and contemporary value. It is an area of study that is influenced by a range of contextual factors and allows for the exploration of creative intentions to be realised in performance through practical discovery and theoretical application.

The subject content for A level Drama and Theatre is divided into three components.

1. Drama and Theatre

2. Creating Original Drama

3. Making Theatre

Entry requirements

If you are doing Performing Arts Drama at KS4 you will need to get a Merit+ or GCSE Grade 5+.

If you are not doing Performing Arts at KS4 then you need to get a Grade 5+ in English Language and have Acting experience in a variety of different styles. An Audition may be required.
