Course Summary

This Study Programme teaches you with art of welding. You will be working on TIG, MIG, oxy gas, thermal cutting, sheet work and plate work as well as grasping engineering mathematics and the principles of welding and fabrication.

You will be working alongside other students in our custom-built welding bays at our engineering centre in Norwich gaining hands on skills and experience as well as receiving theory-based sessions and online written work delivered and set by our skilful tutors. Working safely in an engineering environment

Course Details

This course is an ideal introduction into the Welding industry; the course focuses on the first steps involved with Welding and Fabrication and will cover;

  • Manual Metal Arc Welding
  • Oxy-Acetylene Welding
  • Tungsten Inert Gas Welding
  • Metal Inert Gas Welding
  • Brazing and Soldering
  • Metal Fabrication
  • Thermal Cutting Techniques

The course will also include the following core skills:

  • Health & Safety
  • Level 1 Functional Skills English
  • Level 1 Functional Skills Maths

Entry requirements

You must be between the ages of 16-18

There are no formal academic entry requirements; however an initial selection interview is mandatory.
