Have you ever wondered why your siblings look like you? How medicines work? Why DNA is so important? Whether clones exist? A Level Biology will give you an exciting insight into the contemporary world of biology.
You will learn how to apply your knowledge, investigate and solve problems in a range of contexts. Based in our spacious, modern laboratories, the course covers a range of engaging topics.
This includes, cloning and biotechnology, biodiversity, ecosystems, exchange and transport in animals and plants, cell structure, homoeostasis, biomolecules, populations and sustainability, the nervous system and disease pathogenesis.
Each year, students interested in a career in medicine and health care take part in the James Paget University Hospital Senior Healthcare Academy in order to gain hands-on experience.
Entry requirements
You must meet overall A Level entry criteria.
If you wish to study two or more A Level Science or Maths courses, you will need to meet the entry criteria for a Science A Level programme too
