In order to ensure success in the Sixth Form, we have designed different pathways to suit your individual needs. Please see below for the specific entry criteria. In addition to this, students will need to check the specific entry criteria for their chosen subjects by checking each course descrpition.
The General Pathway
This pathway is for students who are unsure about which way their future will take them and therefore would like to keep their options as open as possible by gaining UCAS points with their Module Two Option.
Module One: three A Levels
Module Three: Enrichment Course
Module Four: Academic Coaching
You will need English and Mathematics at Grade 4 or above and at least four other GCSE subjects at Grade 4 or above.
The Combined Pathway
This pathway is for students who are unsure which way their future will take them and therefore would like to keep their options as open as possible.
Module One – either one of the three below options:
Two A-levels and one specialist qualification (equivalent to one A Level)
One A-level and two specialist qualifications (equivalent to one A Level each)
Three specialist qualifications (equivalent to one A Level each)
Module Two: Enrichment Course
Module Three: Academic Coaching
You will need English or Mathematics at Grade 4 or above and at least four other GCSE subjects at Grade 4 or above.
The Specialist Pathway
This pathway is equivalent to three A Levels and is designed for students who already know which career path they would like to take. Please refer to our on offer to view the range.
Module One: Advanced Specialist Qualification
Module Two: Work Placement
Module Three: Enrichment Course
You will need English or Mathematics at Grade 4 or above and at least four other GCSE subjects at Grade 4 or above.
The Extended Pathway
This pathway is for students aspiring to study at Oxbridge or one of the Russell Group Universities or who want to follow a high-demand course such as Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary, Law or Engineering.
Module One: Three A Levels
Module Two: One Advanced Subsidiary Level
Module Three: Enrichment Course
Module Four: Academic Coaching
You will need English and Mathematics at Grade 5 or above and at least four other GCSE subjects at Grade 5 or above.
The T Level Pathway
This course is equivalent to three A Levels and is designed for students who already know which career path they would like to take.
Module One: T Level Course
Module Two: Industry Placement
You will need English or Mathematics at Grade 4 or above and at least four other GCSE subjects at Grade 4 or above.
Course Summary
This is a practically based, work related course which is equivalent to one A Level. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations. The course focuses upon key skills in Acting and Performance and will prepare you for working in the Performing Arts industry or for Higher Education
Course Details
AS/Year 12
Investigating Practitioners’ Work (Mandatory)
Students will develop skills to investigate the work of influential practitioners. You will identify the contextual factors that influence their work and critically analyse key information such as creative intentions, performance, production and repertoire in order to develop and communicate independent judgements.
Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance (Mandatory)
This unit serves as an induction into the performing arts where you will develop the appropriate skills and techniques in one or more of the performance disciplines. You will participate in regular workshops, classes and exercises where you will acquire, practise and develop the necessary technical, practical and interpretative performance skills to help you succeed when performing live to an audience.
A level/year 13
Group Performance Workshop (Mandatory)
Students will learn how to respond to a given stimulus as part of a group using research, discussion and practical exploration to develop performance material and later present an informal presentation of the work to an invited audience. As a member of a team you will contribute to the creative development and rehearsal process, shaping and refining work, applying performance and team working skills.
Additional Unit
This additional unit is chosen from a range and varies based on the strengths and interests of each cohort. Previous classes have studied Acting Styles, Classical Text and Movement in Performance. All of the options require both performance and supplementary written work to be completed for assessment.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Coursework/Examination Requirements: The course is made up of four units, three of which are mandatory and one is a specialist acting unit. Two units are externally set and assessed.
Awarding Body/Specifications: Pearson Level 3 Certificate/Extended Certificate in Performing Arts (Acting). Students will be awarded a Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*

One of the five to be GCSE Mathematics or English at Grade 4 or above
A background in Drama would be preferable. You may have studied Drama at Level 2 GCSE, or may belong to a Drama group.

Progression: This qualification can also give you access to Higher Education to then become an Actor, Director, Arts Administrator, Drama Teacher/ Facilitator.
