Volunteering and Gap Years

You may want to think about doing voluntary work or taking a gap year between your sixth form or college studies and starting higher education or work.  If this is something you are considering, make sure you:

• think about what you want to do and achieve during the year
• investigate the range of possible opportunities
• if you want to do a higher education course afterwards, follow the procedures to apply - you can apply for deferred entry this year or be prepared to go through the process during your gap year.
