About us
Choosing a post 16 provider and qualifications can feel like a daunting task, but at Fakenham Sixth Form we aim to make this decision as easy as possible for you.
We are an experienced post 16 provider and pride ourselves on our values: Kind, Ambitious and Determined.
As a member of the Fakenham Sixth Form community, you will receive a personalised learning experience. We offer a wide range of qualifications including A Levels, Level 3 BTECs and Level 2 courses, all to suit the needs and interests of a wide range of students. You will pick the subjects that ignite curiosity in you, and you will receive excellent teaching in a dynamic and spirited environment.
As a Fakenham Sixth Form student you will receive excellent support and guidance from our specialist Sixth Form Pastoral Support Tutor along with our friendly and approachable staff. You will be given advice to help you make important decisions about your future career and life after Sixth Form. We have a highly qualified team of people who have expertise in a range of areas, meaning you will be well supported and challenged to ensure you excel in all you do with us.
It is important to us that Fakenham Sixth Form students demonstrate kindness within our community, whether this be through the friends you will make, by running charitable events or by contributing to team activities throughout the year.

Application Instructions
There are a number of specific subject entry requirements, please visit our website to review the courses and entry requirements or alternatively please contact the Sixth Form for specific details.
*Please choose 3 subject courses from different blocks, you will automatically be added to Maths or English resit classes on enrolment if you do not achieve required 4 in Maths or English Lit/Lang but you must still meet requirements for entry per subject.
What makes us different?
Course Pathways
There are two pathways students can follow when studying at Fakenham Sixth Form. The pathways below indicate the typical entry requirements on each pathway, however, these may be altered based on a student’s circumstances.
Pathway A: A Level (Level 3)
Students who achieve 5 or more 4-9 grades will complete 3 A Levels and an EPQ over two years. Alongside these students will also attend registration, Future Skills lessons and Enrichment.
Pathway B: Access pathway (Level 2/3)
Students who achieve GCSE grades 2s or 3s will study one of the ‘Access Pathways’.
Access A-Level/T-Level course
This pathway B programme is designed to support students’ progression onto Level 3 study. Students who achieve GCSE grades 2s or 3s will study the Level 2 Programme including GCSE English and Maths Resit, Higher Project Qualification, careers meetings, registration, Future Skills lessons, and Enrichment.
To prepare students for A Levels they will complete AQA unit awards in the subjects they wish to study at Level 3. Students will also complete two days of Work Experience in a self-selected placement, every week.
Access to work/Apprenticeships
This pathway B programe is designed to support student progression onto work and apprenticeships. Students who achieve GCSE grades 2s or 3s will study the Level 2 Programme including GCSE English and Maths Resit, Higher Project Qualification, careers meetings, registration, Future Skills lessons and Enrichment.
To prepare students for work or apprenticeships they will complete AQA unit awards for work skills. Students will also complete two days of Work Experience in a self-selected placement, every week.
Transport
Norfolk County Council run a transport scheme for students wishing to attend Fakenham Sixth Form. For further information, including detailed bus routes and timetables visit www.norfolk.gov.uk/post16transport
Applications for transport provided by Norfolk County Council are normally available from the beginning of April. All applications should be made by the end of July each year (payment is required at a later date). Norfolk County Council are able to change or cancel applications for transport should your plans for college change but cannot guarantee that bus passes will be available for September for applications submitted after the end of July.
All routes are subject to change and are reviewed on an annual basis.

Fakenham Sixth Form is based on Field Lane, Fakenham
In addition to general teaching rooms, the site’s facilities include: a Science Block; an Art and Design suite; two Multi-media teaching rooms with recording and editing facilities; a Careers Resources centre; supervised Private Study rooms with access to the computer network; extensive playing fields; and lively cafeteria. Most classrooms are equipped with interactive white boards and there is a Leisure Centre nearby. We have free onsite parking for students, for when they are mobile.
