Course Details
Studying A Level Law will enable you to investigate a wide range of high profile, real life cases. You will find out about the offences themselves, how they came to court, how the judge can sentence a convicted criminal and how solicitors, barristers, magistrates and juries interact.
In the first year, you will study the nature of law, the English legal system and one area of criminal law. You will be taught problem solving techniques, how to develop a legal argument and will analyse case studies.
In the second year, you will explore tort law and human rights law. Students who like analysing issues, problem solving and debating will thoroughly enjoy the whole course.

You must meet overall entry critera for A Level study.
Your next steps...
After completing this course, you can progress to university to study degrees such as law, criminology, psychology and business. Alternatively, apprenticeships within the legal profession are now becoming more popular.
Career opportunities include arbitrator, barrister, barrister’s clerk, civil service administrator, conveyancer, legal secretary, paralegal, patent attorney, police officer, probate practitioner, probation officer and solicitor.
