Course Summary
Film Studies is designed to deepen your understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of film, arguably the major art form of the past one hundred years. The course involves the study of cinema as a medium, an art form and a social and economic institution. You will come into contact with a wide range of films, developing skills of observation, critical analysis and personal reflection. It is an excellent opportunity to gain a respected qualification in a subject which many find fascinating. It complements studies in languages, literature and social sciences whilst at the same time offering a fresh contrast for students considering the sciences.
