This course will develop students knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy, physiology and health and safety. They will also develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to consult with clients whilst providing a range of beauty treatments including facial treatments, skin analysis, manicure, pedicure, waxing, eyelash/eyebrow treatments and make-up applications. In parallel, learners will develop their communication and customer service skills, their awareness of environmental sustainability and their commercial skills, all of which are valued highly by employers. Problem solving, team working and research skills will also be developed.

A range of elements that are required and show an in-depth and broad knowledge of anatomy and physiology, team work and skills employers value in a Beauty Therapist

At Victory in the Beauty department we aim to deliver the curriculum in detail and with the added experience of our fully qualified teachers who have worked in this industry. The students will be expected to have excellent attendance record, be able to work as a team and independently, show willing and motivation in situations within a real working environment and on clients. Every student would be expected to be punctual as well as professional in their manner and dress code. A positive and conscientious attitude to revision and workload is imperative to be able to achieve on this course.

To study Vocational / Technical Qualifications: A minimum of 30 points. These points will be accumulated from your top 8 KS4 grades. For example a student who achieves the following grades would meet the entry criteria.

E.g 5+5+4+4+3+3+3+3 = 30 points (Average grade 3.75)

Some Vocational qualifications will require a Level 2 Merit or grade 4 to access them

Entry criteria is a guide and interviews will be conducted with candidates to confirm if they are suitable to follow their selected courses.

Students who complete this course could progress directly into employment which may include, salons, spas, self-employed and mobile therapist. However, students can choose to develop their knowledge further and continue with the Level 3 in Beauty Therapy or Holistic Therapies. Other options such as make-up artistry, sport therapies or nursing can also be offered.
