Beauty Therapy - Level 2

This course is for you if you are looking to start your career in the beauty industry or already have some experience and want to build on it. You'll learn the core skills, techniques and professional knowledge needed to work confidently in a salon, spa or freelance. It will also provide a strong foundation if you plan to continue with the Level 3 Beauty course.

During this course, you will learn all the fundamentals and important skills needed for a successful career in the beauty industry. You will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience in our specialist salons at the King's Lynn and Wisbech campuses!

You will cover the following subjects:

• Anatomy and physiology
• Working in the industry
• Health and safety
• Client care
• Facials
• Manicures and pedicures
• Makeup
• Eye treatments
• Head massage
• Reception
• Spray tanning

There are four types of assessment:

• Demonstration of practical competence

• Short assignments

• Oral questioning

• Online tests

A portfolio of work is built up during the time spent at college.

You will need:

• 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or higher, including English and maths

Or:

• A level 1 qualification in Hair & Beauty at Merit or Distinction standard studied at CWA or another further education provider
• English and maths GCSEs at grade 3 or higher
