Progression Level 1
Suffolk Road, Southtown, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR31 0ED
This is a bridging course that provides a year’s acclimation before you move on to the wider college, Project SEARCH or study at an alternative provision. Whilst we quite often have students starting straight from school, the programme is also open to current Foundation and Progression students, if you need a further year to develop personal skills, confidence or maths and English skills.
Units you will study include household skills, improving your own confidence, personal career planning, understanding rights and responsibilities, understanding young people, law and order, English and maths and vocational tasters.
You will take part in community projects and give something back. This may include visiting leisure facilities, or taking part in projects that involve moving around with some physicality. Also, you will gain work experience and access to the wider community.
There are no specific entry requirements, you just need an enthusiastic and mature approach to education and learning. You will also need excellent attendance and timekeeping throughout the course.
Your next steps...
The aim of the course is to enable progression to the wider college, employment or volunteering, but some students may choose to access community-based provision.
