Course Details

The purpose of this course is to help identify what you want to do when you leave Foundation and Progression, and support your development so you are best prepared for your next steps.

The structure of the course is built around the identified needs of the group (based on EHCP and planned progression routes) but can include topics such as drug and alcohol awareness, exploring enterprise ideas, wellbeing, writing a CV, recognising your own achievements, developing skills for gaining employment, developing a personal learning programme, managing social relationships and personal finance. There will also be the opportunity to undertake some vocational subjects, such as art, IT, sport and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements, you just need an enthusiastic and mature approach to education and learning. You will also need excellent attendance and timekeeping throughout the course.

Your next steps...

You could progress onto a Level 1 course in the Foundation department, a Level 1 mainstream course or an alternative provision if the college is no longer appropriate (if this is the case, an interview is arranged with college careers staff).
