Course Details
Offers a learner-centred approach for young people aged 16 – 18 who have various barriers to learning, which may have impacted attendance, achievement and progression at school or within further education.
Core Programme content includes:
- Healthy Living
- Improving Assertiveness and Decision Making
- Maths and English
- Understanding Stress and Stress Management Techniques
- Preparing for a Recruitment Interview
- Work Related/Experience
- Vocational Tasters
Small class sizes and our team of dedicated tutors/support staff enable and empower learners towards programme engagement focused on Character Strengths, employability skills and progression. Our staff are committed to building positive professional relationships and providing opportunities for learners to co-create parts of their learning programme e.g. budgeting, participating in exercise, enterprise skills and National Citizen Service, making sure we place learners at the heart of everything we do.
Entry requirements
No formal qualifications are necessary, although an interview is essential to identify individual needs and the appropriateness of the course, plus completion of a taster day where young people can demonstrate their commitment to enrol on the programme. Understandably young people may be nervous at the prospect of entering a classroom again, but this course will build confidence and provide connections to further study and work.
