Geography The landscape and our environment: how that affects people and how they effect it; where people live and why they live there. Finding and handling information using words, diagrams, images and statistics, as well as learning about other places and people. The skills you learn are useful in many careers. Geographers might want to look at surveying, town planning, transport management, geology, travel and tourism, farm management, nature conservation and international trade and business.
Health and Social Care Health and care services and how people use them; healthy lifestyles; how people grow and develop.

Double, single, applied?
Health and social care is a double subject vocational GCSE.		 Understanding how people grow and develop; producing evidence using a portfolio; producing a health plan. You might do this subject if you are interested in nursing, midwifery, elderly care, child care, being a playworker, a hospital porter or working in health education.
History The past and how it has led us to where we are today. Finding information; analysing it; making decisions based on evidence and explaining your conclusions to others. Archaeologist, archivist, antique dealer, working in a museum all use history directly. Many other careers use the research, analysis and communication skills from history – legal careers, journalism, library and information work, local government and civil service, diplomatic service, social work and most management jobs.

Leisure and Tourism The leisure and tourism industry, how it is organised and how it attracts customers.

Leisure and tourism is a double subject vocational GCSE.		 Understanding how people make choices; how to analyse problems; customer service; producing evidence using a portfolio. Air cabin crew, holiday rep, hotel reception, travel and tourism, courier, working in a leisure centre are all jobs that might interest you.
