Timetables for Foundation Learning

What will my timetable look like?

This depends on the help and support you need.

“Your Foundation Learning adviser will help plan a timetable that fits your needs.”

First you'll sit down with your Foundation Learning adviser to talk through your needs. (Your adviser may be a teacher or tutor, or they could be a Connexions personal adviser.)

This could be an informal interview talking about your records and achievements at school, or it could be a short test to find out what level you're at.

What your Foundation Learning adviser will help with:

  • They'll help plan a timetable that fits your needs.
  • You'll be given impartial information, advice and guidance on your future.
  • You'll work together on an individual learning plan (ILP). This will set out your aims and targets for the future.

How long will my Foundation Learning take?

That depends on your needs and what you want to achieve.

Some students take a year to finish their Foundation Learning programme; other students take longer. You can talk this through with your Foundation Learning adviser when you start.

What happens when I finish my programme?

Foundation Learning supports you in achieving Entry Level and Level 1 qualifications. From there you can move forward into the other learning pathways, such as:
