Environmental and Land-Based Studies
If you're interested in the environment the ELBS Diploma could be the programme for you. It's all about the environmental and land-based sector and includes subjects such as:
- working with plants
- environmental sciences
- the way we use land for the production of food and just for having fun
- working with all kinds of animals
- looking after forests, wetlands and wild areas
- the effect we have on the world around us and how to limit the damage we do.
You will study in several different ways, not just in the classroom. You will be given the chance to spend some time in a real working environment and hear from people who know about these subjects first hand. Your studies can help you prepare for a career, an apprenticeship, other training or a college or university course.
Important – If you plan on going on to Higher Education after your Advanced Diploma, talk to a teacher or adviser about your Additional/Specialist learning choices. What you choose may restrict which Degree courses you can take.
If you've got a specific university or course in mind, contact the university's Admissions office and ask them about which Additional/Specialist learning they recommend.
