Where to look

Sometimes the hardest part of getting a job is finding out what’s out there. Why not try one of these places:

  • Look for jobs on the web (see below)

“This website has loads of job vacancies just for under-19s in Norfolk”

  • Jobcentre Plus has all kinds of job vacancies.
  • Look in the job sections of local newspapers.
  • Sign up at private employment agencies.
  • Look on the notice boards at school or college.
  • Keep an eye out in local shop windows – this is especially good for finding part-time jobs.

And don’t forget to ask your friends and family if they know of any job opportunities you could go for.

Look on the web

Did you know that help you choose has loads of job vacancies just for under-19s in Norfolk? You can even sign up for job alerts – free texts or emails to let you know when a new job you’d like has come in. Go to the Latest Jobs area to get started.

There’s plenty of other job vacancy websites around. Click one of the links on the left of this page.

Also, you can go to the website of the employer you want to work for – they might have put any job vacancies straight onto their own website.

Try speculative applications

Some companies don’t advertise their vacancies, they wait for people to approach them…so get to them first!
